Mettle feature — Broker Sync
The journal that fills itself in
Connect your broker once and your fills flow into the journal automatically — accurate prices, times, and sizes, with no midnight data entry. You spend your energy on the review, not the typing.

Manual entry kills journals
Every hand-typed trade is a small tax, and the tax compounds: busy days get skipped, skipped days become skipped weeks, and the journal quietly dies. Most abandoned trading journals die of data entry, not lack of intent.
Hand-typed data is also quietly wrong — rounded prices, missing partials, guessed timestamps — which poisons every stat built on top of it.
How it works
- 1
Connect your broker once
Link a supported brokerage account through Mettle's secure connection flow. Mettle imports your activity; it cannot place trades.
- 2
Fills sync automatically
Executions arrive with real prices, times, and sizes — partials and all — and group into trades on your journal timeline.
- 3
CSV covers everything else
Broker not supported? Export a CSV and Mettle's AI-assisted column mapping figures out the format — no template wrangling.
- 4
You add what the broker can't see
With the mechanical data handled, your five minutes go to the part only you can supply: tags, emotions, plan, and the session review.
Key benefits
The habit survives busy weeks
When logging costs zero effort, the journal is always current — including the chaotic weeks that most need reviewing.
Numbers you can trust
Synced fills mean your stats are built on actual executions, not end-of-day reconstructions from memory.
Import-day onboarding
A CSV of your recent history gives you a populated journal on day one, so the first review has something real to chew on.
Read-only by design
Mettle is a journal and coach, not a trading platform. The broker connection imports activity; order placement isn't part of the product.

What you see when you sign in: your readiness gauge, your BRI score, candles from your last session, and the week's running P&L.
FAQ
Which brokers does Mettle sync with?
Mettle syncs supported brokerages through a secure aggregation connection, with coverage strongest for US brokerage accounts. Any broker that exports CSV is covered by import with AI-assisted column mapping — so no broker locks you out of journaling.
Can Mettle place trades in my account?
No. Mettle has no order placement anywhere in the product. The connection exists to import your activity into the journal, and you can disconnect it at any time.
What about options trades?
Options are first-class: synced and imported fills carry the contract details, and the journal, tagging, and review loop are built with options traders squarely in mind.
Is Mettle free to start?
Yes. You get full access free for 14 days with no card. We only ask for a card once you have reviewed three sessions — after the product has proven it earns a place in your routine.
